NIO’s sales continue to rise, not astronomically, but actually quite solidly and strongly.
The company’s sales — all fully electric vehicles of course — were up 17.5% in June compared to June 2024. Across the whole quarter, sales were up 25.6%.
In June, the company had 24,925 vehicle deliveries. In the 2nd quarter of the year, the company had 72,056 vehicle deliveries.
Naturally, NIO now has its sales split amongst a few brands. This is how those June deliveries were split:
- 14,593 sales of the NIO brand (premium brand)
- 6,400 sales of the ONVO brand (“family-oriented” brand)
- 3,932 sales of the FIREFLY brand (small but high-end car brand)
Cumulatively, NIO has reached 785,714 vehicle sales. (At what point is it no longer a startup — 1 million sales? 1 million sales a year?)
NIO also received some notable accolades last quarter. “NIO’s products have been highly recognized in the 2025 J.D. Power studies. The ET5 and ET5T ranked first among mid-size battery electric sedans in the China NEV-IQS study, while the EC6 claimed the top spot in the premium BEV segment in the China NEV-APEAL study. With superior product quality and exceptional user satisfaction, NIO has secured first place in its segment in J.D. Power’s quality research for seven consecutive years since 2019,” the company notes.
NIO and XPENG have almost always been closely linked due to the timing of their market entries, the types of vehicles they sell, and how similar their rises up the sales charts have been. For a while, NIO was coming out ahead in that comparison, but XPENG is winning lately. Before publishing on XPENG’s June and Q2 sales, here’s a teaser, a comparison of NIO’s and XPENG’s sales over time.
