Energy Storage Awards 2026: One week left to enter the industry-leading celebration of excellence

This year, the number of categories has been expanded to reflect the increasingly diverse array of disciplines, talents and technologies that comprise the world of energy storage.

Dare we say it, but this also increases the chances of coming home with a coveted Energy Storage Award or Highly Commended prize for the next-highest-ranked nominees. See the full run-through of categories and awards here.

Note that we said “complete”—we’ve noticed a few uncompleted entries, and it would be sad for any deserving companies, teams or individuals to miss out for this reason.

Helpful hints and guidance

In a recent LinkedIn post, awards judge and renowned “energy storage aficionado” Marek Kubik offered hints to the three key things most likely to let an entry down:

These were:

  1. Lack of evidence beyond unsubstantiated claims such as “significant cost savings” or “industry-leading performance,”

“Give me the US$/kWh, the round-trip efficiency, the availability etc. then prove it. After dozens of entries, data and supporting evidence is what I remember, not marketing copy,” Kubik wrote.

  • Lack of baseline comparisons that illuminate the context in which the entry is meant to stand out. For instance, Kubik wrote that in Texas, a 400MWh project is “unremarkable” in scale, while in an emerging market, the same-sized project would be a game-changer. Kubik advised entrants to “draw comparisons.”
  • Lack of story or narrative. While every project and technology milestone sounds impressive on the surface, a strong and memorable entry explains the problem solved and offers honesty “about the ups and downs.”
