SEG Solar last week inaugurated its second U.S. panel assembly site, a 4-GW annual capacity facility in Tomball, Texas. The company also operates a 2-GW panel facility nearby in Houston and is building a third factory in the area.

Representing an investment of $200 million and spanning more than 500,000 ft2, SEG’s site in Tomball is one of the country’s largest HJT module manufacturing facilities. The facility features four advanced production lines dedicated to manufacturing SEG’s latest-generation high-efficiency SIERRA N series HJT modules, supporting both 210-mm and 210R wafer formats. The facility incorporates specialized HJT manufacturing processes, including low-temperature soldering and precision butyl sealant application.

Tomball 1 is an important step in expanding our manufacturing capacity to meet that demand, with commercial operations expected to begin in the third quarter of this year.”
As construction continues on a third module manufacturing facility, SEG announced it is considering a silicon cell manufacturing facility to build a more integrated domestic supply chain.
