Solar Power World, the premier media outlet for the U.S. solar market and publisher of the annual Top Solar Contractors List, is now accepting submissions for its manufacturer-focused awards program: Top Products presented by Solar Power World. Companies can submit their products through the online application portal.
“As a news and media outlet dedicated to the solar installation community, Solar Power World enjoys learning about the products that help contractors of all sizes do their jobs better,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “Our judges this year are ready to asses products on their benefits for an energy market growing alongside AI and other advanced technologies.”
The 2026 Top Products contest will celebrate the most innovative and significant products available to the U.S. solar and storage industry. This competition is judged by industry professionals with experience in all markets, representing the research, product development and installation sectors. Awarded products are assessed on their originality, market promise and benefits to installers and developers.
The 2026 Top Products program follows two tracks: residential and large-scale. The product categories are:
- Solar Panels
- Inverters + Power Electronics
- Racking + Mounting + Tracking
- Software + Apps
- Balance of System (BOS)
- Energy Storage
- EV + Grid Integration
- Installation Equipment
- Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Tools
Entries submitted must be products that are commercially available in the United States and have been installed/used in real-life situations (no products only in testing or trial phases). The early-bird deadline for the 2026 Top Products campaign is Sept. 4, 2026. Late entries, with an increased fee, will be accepted until Sept. 30, 2026.
Submissions should describe the product’s purpose, provide information on the development process and include real-life examples of the product at work. Full details of what is required can be found online.
The 2025 Top Products competition awarded “Best in Show” distinctions to inverters, energy storage systems, software, O&M tools and more. A few standout products were also awarded “Honorable Mentions.” See all the 2025 winners here.
Winners of the 2026 Top Products contest will be announced both online and in Solar Power World‘s print magazine this November.
